Photo-based skin analysis looks for visible patterns in a consistent set of images. These can include apparent redness, uneven-looking tone, visible pores, surface texture and areas that appear dry or congested. The value is not a single score. It is the ability to organize observations using the same framework each time.
Lighting, camera distance, makeup, expression and image quality can change what a system sees. Solvi treats the first scan as a baseline and asks for comparable follow-up photos so that ordinary capture differences are less likely to be mistaken for skin changes.

How to prepare for a clearer scan
A careful capture takes only a few minutes and makes every later comparison more dependable. Use the same room when possible and avoid beauty filters, portrait retouching or strong directional light.
Start with a clean face
Remove makeup and wait until recently applied products are no longer visibly sitting on the skin.
Use soft, even light
Face a window or diffuse light source. Avoid direct sun, colored bulbs and deep shadows.
Keep the camera stable
Hold the phone at eye level, keep a neutral expression and follow each requested angle.
Repeat the conditions
For a check-in, use similar lighting, distance and time of day whenever practical.

What a skin analysis cannot determine from a photo
A consumer skin scan cannot confirm a medical condition, evaluate symptoms that are not visible or safely assess a changing lesion from a marketing photograph. Image models can also perform differently across devices, lighting conditions and skin tones, which is why limitations and human context matter.
Seek qualified medical care for a spot that is new or changing, bleeding, painful, infected or otherwise concerning. Solvi is designed for educational skincare guidance and routine tracking, not urgent or diagnostic decisions.
